TORONTO, Jan. 21, 2016 /CNW/ -- OpenTable, the world's leading provider of online restaurant reservations and part of The Priceline Group (NASDAQ: PCLN), today announced the 100 Best Restaurants in Canada for 2015. These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 275,000 restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for approximately 1,600 restaurants across Canada.
The 100 Best list includes award winners from seven provinces, with 41 Ontario restaurants represented, 20 from British Columbia, 19 from Alberta and 17 from Québec.
For the second year in a row, French fare was the most popular choice among Canadian diners, with Canadian and Italian cuisines placing second and third. Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Syrian cuisines ranked in the Top 100 as well.

The 100 Best Restaurants in Canada are amassed from more than 275,000 restaurant reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners who dined at Canadian restaurants between December 1, 2014, and November 30, 2015. All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant's average rating in the "overall" category along with that restaurant's rating relative to others in the same metropolitan area and the average number of restaurants reviewed by diners who reviewed that restaurant.
